Staff Health and Wellbeing

Within ELDP we recognise the importance of improving staff health and wellbeing, encouraging staff to step away from their work and think about their own health. Supporting the Health and Wellbeing of staff helps them to continue to deliver outstanding care to our service users and carers and ensures we have a safe and effective environment where we are able to deliver care effectively.

Some of our current initiatives include:

  • Weekly bulletins highlighting staff health and wellbeing opportunities and events
  • A Health and Wellbeing Champion Network
  • Mental Health First Aiders Training and Mental Health First Aiders across the Trust
  • Confidential and safe forums where staff can talk about the emotional impact of their work
  • The opportunity to be part of a number of different staff networks including Mental Health, Diversability, Womens, LGBT and Straight Allies, Carers, BAME and Spirituality.
  • Mindfulness bite size taster sessions
  • Mini health checks
  • Free, confidential counselling services 24/7
  • Reduced gym rates at a number of local health clubs/gyms
  • Employee Assistance Programme
